So, I found myself commenting on forums and
review blogs about Transformers the movie.
Most of my comments are about how silly the movie is...
but some random comment I came across
had the best comment to rebuttle
all who argued against my thoughts,
He talked about how films are
multi-multi-million dollar creative projects
that will be stored forever as records of human cultural history
and he went on and said
that the Transformers franchise is worthy of quality
instead of mind-numbing entertainment.
I know thats too deep in a conversation about
Transformers...
but, he concluded,
"Anyone who defends shallow, insulting movies has only a shallow appreciation for cinema and is someone who blindly accepts the "consumer culture" forcing it's way into art."
yea, I know, thats just too much thought into
a summer blockbuster...
but its true.
I don't hate this movie.
Its just so fun and easy to hate on it.
I guess I am trying to discourage people
from seeing this movie more than once.
I mean I can see why people would go see this movie again and agin...
but, man... don't pay full price more than once!
Just look at the box office... they don't need your money
and don't worry.. the sequels are already on the way.
Hasbro should be making a killing just with the toys alone.
and have you seen
the toys?
*barf*
I'm just glad Bandai got my kids on lock
with ninjas...
( I guess that means that the ninjas are winning in the
Ninjas vs. Robots vs. Pirates War )
I haven't seen all the movies out this summer
but, in my opinion,
Paprika and Ratatouille are the only films
with replay value.
Transformers the movie is like the
Hors Devours in the movie,
Big.
and I am Josh trying to scrape it off of my tongue with a napkin.
Paprika and Ratatouille are the best ways to get rid of the after taste.
and tonight I am going to wash it down with an
Order Of The
Phoenix.
